THE
EQUIPMENT
THE
CONTROL SYSTEM
The
human body is one of the best illustrations of your pool and its
operation. The controller, “the brain of the system,” synchronizes
all aspects of the system. The automated system not only controls the
basic functions of the human circulatory system “heart, kidneys and
liver”, but controls all the other auxiliary components or
“organs.” Conversely, the manual system performs only the basic
functions of the circulatory system and requires more of your attention.
The
features of the controller that will provide the most important
advantages to you are as follows:
|
•
Convenience in time savings |
|
•
Energy efficiency of pumps |
|
•
Ease of access |
|
•
Flexibility in use of desired functions |

THE
FILTERING SYSTEM
The
filtering system for your pool consists of two major components, the
pump and the filter. The connection of these components with the pool
structure is completed through an intricate, non-corrosive plumbing
system. Together, these properly balanced components form a closed
circulation system for transporting and cleaning water back and forth to
the pool to provide a safe, clean, and inviting environment.
By
a closed circulation system, we mean that the filtering system and
plumbing is airtight, much like the human circulatory system and
consists of the “heart” (or pump), the “liver” (or the filter),
and the “veins” or the “arteries” (or the plumbing system).

THE
PUMP
The
circulation pump we have designed for your pool is specifically
engineered to provide: maximum flow characteristics for optimum balanced
performance, excellent turnover rate for cleaner, safer water
environment, energy efficiency for minimum operating expenses, swimmer
comfort and ease of operation.
The
features of the pump that will provide the most significant advantages
to you are as follows:
|
•
A clear Lexan lid with a large handle that provides quick
access to the strainer basket and easy viewing. |
|
•
A oversized hair and lint strainer that provides good
flow of water under wider range of dirt load conditions. |
|
•
A strainer that is smooth on inside providing easier
removal of debris. |
|
•
A 2” suction and 2” discharge manifold that provide
superior self-priming characteristics for quick start-ups. |
|
•
An extremely quiet operating level for a truly enjoyable
pool environment. |
The
pump has a very important job to perform. It effectively removes water
from the pool through a network of plumbing, and then pushes it back
into the pool, providing water filtration, circulation, and movement.
Its operation is normally started and ended automatically through the
automated system or mechanical time clocks. In either case, it is
important that the pump run for a period of time to provide adequate
circulation, filtration, and chlorination for your pool.
The
power and efficiency of your pump must be closely matched with the
filter specifications to provide a properly balanced filtration system.
A higher horsepower pump may be capable of pumping more gallons per
minute to achieve a slight increase in water circulation, but may cost
you heavily in increased operating costs and reduced filtering
efficiency.

THE
FILTER
As water is effectively removed from the
pool by the pump, it continues its recirculation path back to the pool
by passing through a water-filtering device. The filter is a device
allowing “cleansed” water to pass through on its path back to the
pool after trapping particulate matter from the water. In this manner,
the pump and filter are daily “workhorses” helping to keep your
water clean and Inviting.

The
filter for your pool utilizes a white powdery material called
“Diatomaceous Earth – D.E.” to provide the filtering, or cleaning,
characteristics of the filtering system. It is extremely effective, easy
to operate, and will provide you with the cleanest water of any
filtering device available.
As
long as the pump is in operation, the filter continues to clean the
water that passes through the system. The filters effectiveness is
measured by a pressure gauge on top of the filter. As the filter gets
filled with dirt, the pressure builds and the effectiveness of the
system diminishes. Be sure to operate your system within parameters as
specified by your dealer and/or manufacturer to insure the best results.

THE
CLEANING SYSTEM
Your
pool is equipped with an automatic pool cleaning system. It is designed to
perform the majority of the cleaning of fine dirt and small particles of
debris that normally get into swimming pools. Daily operation of this
cleaner will help provide the necessary preventative maintenance to keep
your pool looking clean and inviting. Your service technician will help
you set up your cleaning system, making sure it is properly sized for your
pool.
In
addition to the automatic pool cleaning system, you will be provided with
a complete set of “pool tools” for performing other preventative
maintenance functions. One chore, which can provide excellent muscular
toning benefits for the arms, chest and shoulders, is brushing the pool
surface with the pole and brush provided. Frequent brushing helps insure a
smoother plaster surface, reduces risk of staining and algae growth,
giving you a cleaner pool and possibly a healthier body!
The
surface has pores that collect dirt and will stain over a period of time.
The pool cleaner has a tail whip designed to spray a flow of water across
the surface of the pool to agitate and remove this dust. Although the
cleaner is an integral part of your system, it does not replace the need
for wall and pool surface brushing, as well as occasional manual
vacuuming.

THE
SANITIZING SYSTEM
The
sanitizing system for your pool consists of an in-line chlorinator. The
device supplements and maximize chlorine added to your pool on a daily
basis. This does not eliminate the need to balance your pool water as
chemical testing indicates.
The
chlorinator provides a basic level of chlorine on a regular basis. There
will be times when additional chlorine will need to be administered as
indicated by environmental conditions and water chemistry readings.

THE SPA SYSTEM
The
hot water is introduced to the spa through a carefully engineered plumbing
system. At the point of entry into the spa, the water passes through a
special fitting referred to as a jet, which is actually a mixing chamber
for water and air. While in the soaking phase of operation, the jet has
primarily hot water passing through it. In the highly agitated state, air
is mechanically forced into the mixing chamber through the jet resulting
in water and air entering the spa together, producing a massaging
sensation.
Each
spa is custom fitted with a spa jet manifold assembly. Both the water and
air feed lines come from the equipment area and connect into this spa jet
manifold assembly. This type of assembly ensures an equal distribution of
water and air through each individual jet while it is in operation.
The
net result is, that when you get into your spa, you can truly relax in an
environment that is operated economically, efficiently, and conveniently.
Welcome to the wonderful world of aqua therapy.

THE
HEATING SYSTEM
The
heating system designed for your pool and spa features ease of operation,
fuel economy, and superb effectiveness. It delivers more heat to your pool
or spa water, per unit of fuel, than any other heater available today!
The
easy to operate front controls, feature the popular ‘Pool and Spa”
temperature setting; your pool can be one temperature, the spa another.
You can get the same temperature every time with a simple press of a
button. The unique intermittent ignition provides you not only energy
savings over millivolt systems, but also allows electronic ignition on
demand. Depending upon the season, you can heat your spa in less time than
it takes to cut the grass!
Each
heater installation is equipped with a 2” filtration plumbing system
providing maximum flow characteristics. Since the heater is rated at 125
gpm, it carries the highest water flow rating in the industry. This gives
you excellent circulation back to the pool and maximum water action in the
spa.
Your
heated spa and/or pool will give you years of all season enjoyment for
your family and friends.

THE
AIR
INJECTION
SYSTEM
For
pools with spas, a special air injection system is designed and installed
to provide maximum spa water action on demand.
When
the air injection system is activated, a powerful force of air is injected
into the water, flowing through the spa jet mixing chambers. This causes
the spa water to “boil” with activity and produces the strong
massaging effects for sore muscles and aching joints. When the massaging
is no longer needed, a simple touch of a button on the automated
system’s spa remote control or the flip of a switch located near the
back door area of your home will return the spa action back to the
comfortable soaking mode.
The
positive therapy action obtained through mechanical air injection systems
provides you with exacting control, flexibility, and convenience for your
spa usage. Without leaving the comfort of your spa, the automated system
provides a means to facilitate all aspects of your system.
The
source of the water agitation is a UL approved air blower that is
specifically designed for your spa.

The
lights can be turned on or off easily by the automated system or a set of
mechanical switches which will be conveniently located near the back door
area of your home. A ground fault circuit interrupter switch (GFCI) is
added to provide maximum safety for your family from any possible dangers
of electrical bleed off conditions. At times this GFCI switch may need to
be reset.
Optional
lighting can provided: dimmers for the pool and/or spa lights, low-voltage
landscape lighting kits and/or a spot light at the equipment pad area.
These can be controlled by the automated system or by time clocks or
mechanical switches.

THE
WATER FEATURE SYSTEM
Whether
you have chosen aerators, fountains, lions’ heads, scuppers, sheer
descents, waterfalls or any combinations thereof, all are dramatic
additions to your pool environment. If you have chosen auxiliary pumps to
run your water features, you can turn them on or off easily by the
automated system or a set of mechanical switches which will be
conveniently located. Without auxiliary pumps, your water feature will
function whenever the filtering operation is on.
